First Year At College

As class nears its end I am excited to almost be a sophomore one step closer to graduating I guess. Overall I think college was not as difficult as I expected it to be, I did complain a lot about all the work that was handed to me but it was more because I did not want to do it rather than it being hard to do. Making friends in college was also easier than expected can't explain how I did it but I did. Most of my classes are already done except for finals so I am pretty much already done. For physics cant really tell you what I have left as I have not been showing up the only class with work left to complete is my Portuguese class but it is an oral presentation in a group so that should be really easy. So now I only have to worry about finals before finally finishing my first year in college. Since the end of spring break, I have been missing classes more often especially my morning class as I just don't want to get up that early any more. The only reason I'm not failing that class is because the teacher does not take attendance and the class notes are sent through email to us so I can basically go through it after. I also miss my first class because the class I have after that is always canceled on Wednesdays which means I would have a four-hour gap which no one enjoys. Instead, I stay home to do homework and look over the notes that she sends us to our email right after the class is over. I need to start going back to class though because if we have a test there is no way for me to know when it is going to happen without me attending the class. I tend to focus more and do more work in classes were the teachers are strict as I know that my grade will be lower in those classes I work hard to raise those grades up while I let my other grades fall a little ...

The days of me trying to find time to do homework are finally given a break. Spring break has finally arrived and we are getting a much-needed break to get away from homework. Not me anyways since my Cj class has to make a powerpoint presentation due the day we return from the break not to mention the ten-page paper I wrote in the morning. I don't know how I got to class on time. I finished the paper in four hours and it required me to use eight sources. Not to mention the essay I had in this class too. I also had a midterm for physics and homework for my Portuguese class over the weekend. This break will get me away from the work for about three days before I have to start creating my powerpoint presentation. Last week I took my physics midterm and am going to take my Criminal Justice midterm tomorrow. I went into my physics test unprepared and late and was one of the first ones to leave and that is never a good sign. I got my grade yesterday and I was shocked at how well I did when I literally guessed on all the questions but yea I still failed I got a sixty-one percent on the midterm. The only reason I went to that test so unprepared is because of how chill the teacher is. My physics teacher offered us a retake online that weighed half as much as the original which I got a ninety percent on boosting my grade to over 100% on the midterm. My Criminal Justice teacher is a different story lets just say you mess up a period or a comma and you lose a little over six percent for each mess up.  My car has always been a problem if it is not one thing it is another. I always have to find a way to fix it because mechanics for a European car are not cheap. Since the start of the semester one of my windows has broken and the battery of my car. My car battery literally would not start when I went to take my mom to the doctor. I had to get an Uber home and my dad had to take me to go buy a new battery. The new battery cost me 200$ which is pretty expensive. Later we had to go jumpstart the car so I could fix it at my house. These tiny fixes may not seem like much but with every tiny fix goes at least a hundred dollars. I have been looking into getting a new car since I do have money saved up and it is just a matter of time before I make the switch. After all it is much more cost efficient driving a higher mile per gallon car from the United States as the car is easier to fix, the parts are easier to find, and you save hundreds on gas.  As I continue through college I see that writing is going to be a big part of most of my classes and even though some teachers try to let me write whatever I want it may be easier but it is still a chore to go out an explore something that interests you then find an article to write about. My criminal justice teacher this year is probably the strictest grader I have ever encountered. You can lose five points just by not putting a period while citing with APA. Not to mention I have an essay every week in his class and a huge ten-page paper that needs eight sources that is due the day we come back from spring break. I think I know what I am going to have to do during spring break. I guess all teachers are not the best I am a visual learner and usually learn better when the teacher makes an effort to entertain the students while also teaching us the material we need to learn.
